THE V&A MUSEUM OF CHILDHOOD THE MUSEUM’S DOLL’S HOUSE COLLECTION

While I was at the office today, I watched a program about the world of DOLL’S HOUSE COLLECTING.  I was actually really fascinated.  We have a lady who travels to London to one of our flats quite often–really a nice lady–and she told me she collected doll’s houses and miniatures.  So, in the last week, I have had two reminders that I should post information about the V&A Museum of Childhood at Bethnal Green.  I have been reading some of the details about these doll’s houses, and it is really fascinating–certainly a wonderful insight into our history.  Of course the great doll’s house is Queen Mary’s Doll’s House at Windsor Castle.

Enjoy!

  1. Thomas…regarding the Queen’s Dolls’ House at Windsor, there is a wonderful new book–The Queen’s Dolls’ House by Lucinda Lambton–that has a complete inventory of everything in the Doll House and over 220 “colour illustrations”. My English friends said they thought it was the best book ever about the House. We got our copy at Hatchard’s.

    Happy holidays to you…Donna
