THE QUEEN’S GALLERY FOR GIFTS

Filed under: Souvenirs — tmooresr @ 11:56 am

I went to the Queen’s Gallery to find some pieces of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s china for my friend Judy Mitchell at home;  to my dismay, the trinket boxes are all sold out.  The lovely sales people said they just can’t keep them in stock.  He was really excited about this Royal Wedding, and so am I.  I loved his words:  I AM READY FOR A WEDDING WITH ALL CARRIAGES, HORSES, AND THE ROYAL FAMILY.  I AM 72 NOW, AND IT MAKES ME THINK OF THE OLD DAYS.  I have to tell you, I got a lump in “me throat.”

As I stood there,  dismayed that the boxes had all been sold, my eyes caught this fun round serving tray with all the flags, crowns, and scepters.  I am a fool for all this kind of stuff, but for 6 pounds I said WHY NOT?  I have the best time just wandering around, sticking my nose here and there and spending a few pounds.  It is such a lot of fun.  When I am gone and dust, my children can board up all the windows on the big old house and declare it a total “hard hat” area.  I am like a walking magnet–everything just sticks to me!  Especially when I am in the Queen’s Gallery.  What in the world are my children going to do?  Oh well, I am having a great time.  My wife’s eyes roll back in her head, but eventually I get a smile and a kiss.  It is the poor puppy that gets lost in all the clutter, trying to find a safe place to stretch out and snore.

Fun
