LONDON ANTIQUE HUNTING –It is still here, but you have to hunt a little harder

A few days ago, I wrote a post about the gentleman in Jubilee Market Covent Garden who carves wood fruit–really, the most amazing little gems.  I collect miniature wood pieces, 18th and 19th century.  There are little boxes, barrels, pin dishes, banks, needle cashes, and sewing boxes. They are all made by villagers out of local wood.  Over the past few years, they are gotten harder and harder to find.  To my amazement, I found some of my best pieces on this trip.  I have had success in Camden Passage on Tuesday — a shadow of what it used to be–and Jubilee Antique Market on Mondays.  I will post my photos so you can see how beautiful they are, but also they might give a young person wanting to collect something special an idea. It is so much more worthwhile than souvenir stand clutter.  Antique hunting with a purpose is so much fun.  I hope you enjoy these miniatures.  I love them.
