Haven’t you wondered where this or that phrase originated? I certainly have. My friend Maureen Walker is the most superstitious person I know; magpies, ladders, cats all play a part in her life! I like the comments in this article about taking a naked lady to sea to distract bad luck. Well, I am off on the Queen Mary2, but I don’t think the Mrs. will go for a naked crossing on the ship.
