IN DEFENSE OF THE PRINCE OF WALES — The Liberal Press is unrelenting!

I have listened to the Press for several years and have read their endless articles attacking the Prince of Wales and his correspondence and meetings with members of Parliament.  This acidic reporting is so severe from time to time that it is almost embarrassing to the reading public.  There will always be republican and liberal articles in a free press, but this constant attack of the Prince of Wales for doing his job is painful.  I read all the London papers on a daily basis, and their slant on the Prince of Wales is disturbing.  The Prince is a talented, dedicated public servant who is devoted to his job.  He may not always be right, but he is willing to defend his positions with research, fact, and scholarly documentation.  In contrast, the Press thrives on innuendo and half truths.  The Press seems to resent the fact that the Prince has the constitutional right to work with governmental ministers in order to be fully prepared to do his job affectively.  During the past few years,I think there has been a growing support for the Prince from the general public who are putting unfortunate events from over 14 years ago behind them.  I talk to taxi drivers, people in cafes and restaurants, and to our London friends.  The Prince does not have the easy manner, and he knows this about his personality.  But his heart beats with England, and that passion we all feel.  I think the teamwork we are seeing between the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall is fantastic.  They contribute significantly to royal efforts to further good causes in the UK and in the Commonwealth.  I have little faith in the articles in the newspapers, and I have absolutely no patience for individuals who can’t move on–still talking about the problems of a decade ago.  Come on, folks, let’s put aside the liberal press who seem to be on a mission.

I really enjoyed this response from the Prince of Wales today:  factual, calm, and powerful.  That is the way it is at Clarence House!
