  1. During my first trip to London in the summer of 1989, the exchange rate was $1.52 to one pound. Talk about stabilizing – looks like $1.59 today, just 7 cents more twenty-two years later and after so much financial upheaval in the world.

    I can also say I recall $2.00 to one pound just a few years ago and that was a pretty meager vacation! :)
