One of the reasons I like to be in London is my ability to find great musical recordings. I have a difficult time finding great operatic recordings when I am after an artist I want to hear and add to my music library. While I was in the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden a couple of weeks ago, I went into the gift shop–you know me, JUST CURIOUS. I walked over to the shelves of wonderful recordings. I had a smile all over my face when I realized I had solved one of my problems: where to find great CD’s. The shelves were lined with fabulous recordings by contemporary operatic stars as well as the recordings of the great performers we all remember fondly. I just wanted to remind my readers that when you are in Covent Garden, walk over to the Opera House and check out the gift shop. I bought seven recordings which I am certainly enjoying until I can get back to those shelves of opera on my next trip. Just thought I would make a suggestion here.
