HENRY VIII: DESIGNS FOR ENGLISH TENTS AT THE FIELD OF CLOTH OF GOLD

Filed under: Artifact — tmooresr @ 8:59 am

Henry VIII’s meeting with Francis I at the Field of Cloth of Gold was the greatest “extravaganza” of the English Renaissance.  Henry VIII was determined to outshine Francis I, and every effort was made to make the events, the setting, and the food/dress the most glittering.  This is a fabulous document form the Royal Archives at Windsor Castle.
