Stephanie and I and our friend June Gibson found a little apartment on rue Charlemagne, just over from Ile St Louis last summer. By no means was it fancy or luxurious, but it had everything we needed: location, good bathroom, kitchen, and sleeping accommodations for 3. I wanted something in a neighborhood with local markets and storesAND PASTRY SHOPS. We certainly didn’t want to stay at the Ritz, and we did want to feel French in a neighborhood. We enjoyed our week so much that we are going back again this summer during our August/September stay in London. The owner has a second apartment in the same building which is going to be perfect for us. I thought I would let my readers know about this facility. It certainly is not our flat on Holbein Mews or Egerton Gardens, but it is a pied-a-terre worth using. Spend a week in Paris after you have spent a week in one of our flats in London.
