QUEEN VICTORIA’S DIAMOND JUBILEE NOTEBOOK

Filed under: Diamond Jubilee,Diamond Jubilee Celebrations,Queen Victoria — tmooresr @ 5:02 am

The Diamond Jubilee has been celebrated only for  two monarchs in Britain’s thousand year + history since William the Conqueror:  Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II.  It is an amazing milestone as Queen Elizabeth marches on, looking forward to more fruitful years of royal service.  During this DIAMOND JUBILEE YEAR, many items from the Royal Collection related to Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee  will be included in a great exhibition:  part in London and part in Edinburgh.  One of these magnificent objects is Queen Victoria’s “notebook” where she recorded names of people who attended banquets and ceremonies.  The beautiful Faberge object was given to Queen Victoria by Tsar Nicholas II and the Tsarina Alexandra while on a visit to Balmoral.  This great Jubilee year will surface many items from the Royal Collection, never seen by the public.  Really exciting.  What a fabulous year to be in London.  There will be so much to see and enjoy.

  1. The bond between Canada and Queen Elizabeth has always been very strong and her diamond jubilee is a great opportunity to celebrate her life as well as the values that we and the British have in common. I am proud that my country’s gonna make its own contribution in the form of several commemorative items made exclusively for this special occasion. And I hope many similar pieces will be added to the Royal Collection and preserved for future generations when the Queen’s Jubilee is over.
