WESTMINSTER HALL was the setting where The Queen gave her DIAMOND JUBILEE SPEECH to a selected audience made up of members of Parliament, representatives of the Commonwealth, and members of the Royal Family. It was one of the most moving speeches I have heard the Queen give. The Parliamentarians presented the Queen with their DIAMOND JUBILEE gift: a new window for the West Door of Westminster Hall. The previous window was destroyed by an IRA bomb. The Queen was pleased with the gift and hoped that the lovely colors would give great pleasure to those visiting the ancient hall.
