HATFIELD HOUSE: A perfect day-visit outside London

Filed under: Day trips from London — tmooresr @ 4:55 am

Hatfield House is a splendid Jacobean house fifteen miles outside London.  Queen Elizabeth I was under house arrest at the old Palace of Hatfield–a portion of the old Palace remains.  But, the large house we see today was built during the reign of James I   by the Cecil family.  The house is open to the pubic and is easily reached from central London.  We are visiting Hatfield House during our London stay in May, and I will take a few very detailed photographs.  This is a outstanding option for those looking for a day out-of-London.  I hope this helps you.
