This famous photograph was taken in 1909, near the time of the death of Edward VII, at Barton Manor, a house near Osborne house. The house was restored by Prince Albert and used as a royal guest house near Queen Victoria’s residence on the Isle of Wight. The Czar is visiting for the Yachting Races at Cowes. Incredibly important image. How the world would change in 10 years. Goodness me!
