BRITISH DEVOTION TO THEIR SOVEREIGN: The Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth ***MAY 12, 1937***

I talked about the Coronation of George VI and Queen Elizabeth in the past, but I thought I would post a few fun photographs of “CORONATION SOAP” from  1937.  This box of “royal” soap was in my Grandmother’s trunk, and I have enjoyed having them.  I thought my readers would enjoy seeing them.  What interests me is the devotion of the British people to their Monarch.  Sure, we get the “radical” naysayers, but generally, the British find great pleasure in their Royal Family.  During this Diamond Jubilee period, we are again experiencing these tokens of devotion;  and I am having the best time watching all this enthusiasm.  I see it in my family, in my parents’s lives, and certainly in the world of my grandparents;  they adored King George V and Queen May and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.  Aren’t we having such a good time?!  Even with 1937 soap with images of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.  I love it for sure!
