THE QUEEN OPENS THE CUTTY SARK, the fastest clipper ship of her time 1869 — Greenwich

Filed under: Day trips from London,LONDON SITES — tmooresr @ 4:26 am

After the horrific fire on board the Cutty Sark and 25 million pounds of hard work, the Cutty Sark is now open in Greenwich.  Her Majesty the Queen opened the restored clipper ship:  ship and museum.  It is a very interesting creation where the ship sits above a glass ceiling appearing as ocean where there is a restaurant and a museum.  It is an amazing project which the Duke of Edinburgh has taken particular interest in.  Take a Thames River ride to Greenwich, visit the Maritime Museum and the Cutty Sark.  Perfect.
