Stephanie decided we would drive a considerable distance to see THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL. I knew Judi Dench and Maggie Smith were starring in the film, so I did not resist. Our friend Judy Mitchell joined us because she is always such a lot of fun and always adventurous. Throughout the entire movie, I sat there in dead silence, then in hysterical laughter, and finally in almost total tears. I am a visual person and respond to color and design; The MARIGOLD HOTEL blew me away. I loved the noise, clutter, poverty, the magnificent colors captured in this magnificent film. I have to say that I have not enjoyed a film as much as I enjoyed THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL in a long time. The final scene with Maggie Smith behind the hotel desk will live in my memory for a very long time. In a very large theater, there were only thirteen people watching this masterpiece; but they were a very special thirteen!

I can hardly wait to see this, as A: I love India, and was recently in Jaipur, B: I’m a “senior” as well. One of the Virgin Atlantic flights we take next week, is showing the film . So much for sleeping on the plane!!!
Mr Moore, have you been to India? If not, perhaps the film will entice you and Mrs M to pay a visit to that fascinating, amazing country!!
