SATURDAY MORNING: IT IS PORTOBELLO ROAD MORNING, AND EVERYONE WAS THERE!

Filed under: antique markets,Portobello Road — tmooresr @ 1:02 pm

Today was an amazing day at Portobello Road;  I saw such fine things that I have not seen for years.  For me, the most beautiful items in the market were found in  the leather case stalls, the Kashden’s vintage stall, and the fabulous ivory stall.  If you love 18th and 19th century European ivory carvings like I do, you must make contact with FRANZ ANTIQUES;  I haven’t seen such fine European and Eastern decorative works of art in years.  (07768871869, franzantiques@yahoo.co.uk)  I saw ivory Russian tea caddies which I have not seen in years.  Absolutely wonderful.  And Franz is an Austrian/now Englishman with knowledge and a “huge” sense of humor.  He is a fascinating person.  There are always great surprises in Portobello Road.  ***DID YOU KNOW THAT PORTOBELLO ROAD IS NOW OPEN ON FRIDAYS!  I didn’t find this out until recently.  That’s dangerous–two days in a row at the antique market!  Yikes.  Blind me now!
