In this wedding portrait, the second and third generations of Queen Victoria’s family are pictured as brides maids and attendants. Indeed the Queen was the GRANDMOTHER OF EUROPE. Within 25 years of this event, most of the royal houses of Europe were swept away. It’s a long, complicated, and sad story. There are those who survived and several were murdered in revolutions that followed World War I. The story of Princess Alix of Hesse is probably the most terrifying. (Thank you, Joe, for finding this important photograph)
