Nicky, Karin, and I have been friends for many years. I love Owlpen Manor, and I agree with Prince Charles who called it the most romantic place in Britain. I pay tribute to these country estate owners, for generations connected to Britain’s heritage. Lord Mander’s grandmother used to needlepoint with Queen Mary; now that’s getting pretty connected! Lady Mander is a fabulous cook, a fantastic mother, an incredible gardener, a determined wife, and the most wonderful friend. Nicky? He is everything wonderful in that old world of England which finds full expression at Owlpen manor. He is a great scholar, graduate of Cambridge, and a world class historian on British history and architecture. He is brilliant and loves wonderful trivia. I could live there forever.
