I read SHAWCRAFT’S AUTHORIZED BIOGRAPH OF THE QUEEN MOTHER when it first became available. It was a lot to take in during one reading, so I have had it by my bed going through bit by bit. I just finished it this morning, and I have to say that I enjoyed it very much. I knew most of the history, but the anecdotes were so enjoyable. More and more continues to come to the surface about this amazing lady with a “steel rod up her back” causing me to realize the power and determination behind this feminine and jeweled Queen. Those who have been following 20th century British history should make this book a MUST READ. You will enjoy it.
