Those who attended the premiere of SKYFALL noticed that the Duchess of Cornwall arrived at the event wearing an AMETHYST NECKLACE which had never been worn by a member of the Royal Family. I assumed that Prince Charles had bought Camilla a new necklace. But, this morning, an article appeared which revealed the work of JEWEL DETECTIVES. We all know that Queen Alexandra loved amethysts as did Victorian society ladies. The finest amethysts came from Russia; and by tradition, the amethyst sources in Russia were all owned by the Tsar. The Queen wears parts of the DUCHESS OF TECK’S PARURE, but she sold Queen Mary’s amethyst parure. Well, we now have another royal amethyst necklace to enjoy. THANK YOU, Prince Charles.
