THE FUNERAL OF EDWARD VII 1910: ROYAL HEADS OF EUROPE; AFTER THE FIRST WORLD WAR, THERE WERE ONLY 3 ROYAL FAMILIES IN THIS GROUP STILL ON THEIR THRONES: BRITAIN, BELGIUM, NORWAY

I am reminded that Alfonso XIII did reign until 1931, so there were actually 4 of these royal families immediately after World War I, but the Spanish Royal Family was soon sent into exile.

  1. Also the royal family of Spain, because H.M. Don Alfonso XIII reigned until 1931.

  2. Hi

Yes, Alfonso XIII was exiled but the monarchy was later restored after Franco’s death in 1975. Juan Carlos I, Alfonso XIII’s grandson, reigns in Spain as we speak…

I just discovered your blog and I think it’s great, I really like it! I have recently started my own blog on the British Monarchy and I have listed you as a link on my blog roll. You list so many interesting items!!

Enjoy London (I live here and agree with you: greatest city in the world at the moment!)
