Can anyone tell me what this image is? Can anyone guess where it is located in London? It is a fun story. I found it on one of my walks one evening. Some of my readers have seen them during your walks. Let’s see who has been walking in London.

I don’t know where this is but I know what it is. It’s a 19th Century Boot Scraper. I grew up in the East End of London and when I was a ‘kid’ we used to see loads of these on the old houses. When I was little people used to put their milk bottles in them to stop them rolling away and also to tie their dogs to if they were popping in somewhere (Oh the good old days). But, as I’ve said, the proper use was to scrap your boots on before entering someones house.
