THE LOO – True story, Promise

Filed under: Uncategorized — tmooresr @ 9:31 pm

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Fletcher contacted our offices this afternoon to see if one of our flats was available for their Thanksgiving dates. Both Mr. and Mrs. Louis Fletcher were on the telephone.  All during the booking process, there were contentious words flying back and forth between the Fletchers.  I just kept my focus on the booking.

Finally, Mrs. Fletcher said that she was furious because they had spent their day canceling an hotel reservation Mr. Louis Fletcher had made without consulting Mrs. Fletcher.  I could tell she was not pleased at all.

Well, finally everything was acomplished, and they both seemed satisfied.  Mrs. Fletcher was reading and asking about some of the details about the flat in our description.  She finally asked:  WHAT IS A LOO?  I said it was an English express for the toilet.   There was silence for a minute.  Then Mrs. Fletcher said to her husband Louis:  ”Perfect, Louis,  that’s a memorial to you today–the Loo. Exactly right.”

There was dead silence, and then I couldn’t hold back, and all three of us enjoyed a good laugh.  Helping people find appropriate flats for their visits can be very fun–and always interesting.
