Welcome to the LONDON CONNECTION’S new blog site. The purpose of this site is to create a location where people who share a great love of England and almost-all things English can “talk” and share experiences and make suggestions for those traveling to London and to the UK. Experienced travelers to England have lots of information about how to make a better trip, how to avoid disasters, where to eat, where to buy antiques, and of course which historical sights are a must. They even know how to cross the street safely in London. Hopefully, those planning a trip to London will want to ask questions while planning their trip and the “experts” will be back to them on this site to make suggestions. We at London Connection/Connections Mgt will throw in our two bits; after nearly fifty years experience traveling in the UK with a passion for these Isles, we will be delighted to dialog with anyone who also wishes to start this journey. And JOURNEY it is! There will be London city guides, antique dealers and hunters, food nuts, historians, royalists with the latest gossip about the Queen and her family, and those returning from a London vacation who will all have lots to say and will make wonderful suggestions. Come along for the ride; this blog will be a voyage which may never end and will offer hours of endless exciting reading. View the film 84 CHARING CROSS ROAD with Anne Bancroft, and that says it all. I am Thomas Moore, and I will be your host. Right up front, I have to answer the question: IS THIS YOUR REAL NAME? Yep, that’s it. My family is replete with members who have been somewhat burdened with this historical name. But me? I am just an American with English heritage who has been picking up cheat flights to London for many, many years and have had more fun that even I can imagine. For sure, I have a smile on my face. Welcome to THE ANGLOPHILE at The London Connection.

Dear Mr Moore
I came across your website while doing a little surfing and thought you might be interested in a website that my partner and I have only recently launched. It is the diaries of a lady who was from a aristocratic family and her name was ‘Mabel Eden’ (the same family as Anthony Eden). The diaries are a great read and have illustrated footnotes and extensive family trees. As someone clearly interested in history they may be of interest to you.
I liked your piece on Eton. My partner is an OE and I have visited the college with him and it’s like going back in time with so much history.
Kind regards
Nicola Rains
