Balmoral in Scotland is the Royal Family’s summer/fall retreat. This Royal Residence was the beloved home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Every Sovereign since Victoria and Albert’s time has loved the time away from London in this idyllic setting. Now, it is the Queen’s turn to invite the new Duke and Duchess to her Scottish home where she will have time to become acquainted with her grandson’s new Duchess. The Queen knows that one day her Scottish castle will be their home. Like everything the Queen does, she has an eye to the future to carry on the traditions she treasures. I don’t think she will have a problem with the Duke and Duchess enjoying Balmoral as they have already been given a small cottage on the estate for their use, and the Duke enjoys Highland life. He has already spent his summer/fall holidays with the Queen at Balmoral since he was a child. He knows the rituals and routines required here. William was in residence with the Queen and Prince Charles when the news came that the Princess of Wales had died in Paris. The Queen now desires the opportunity away from her busy schedule in London to know Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Perfect. There will be lots of news from Balmoral about this important visit. It is an exquisite setting, and William loves his granny.
