MEET THE AUTHORS WHO KNOW THE ROYALS BEST: It is a LITERARY LUNCHEON in London 22 May. YOU ARE INVITED

Filed under: British authors,Diamond Jubilee — tmooresr @ 5:58 am

Dang!  I don’t arrive in London until 24 May.  Robert Lacey and Penny Junor are two of the most important royal biographers, and I have enjoyed reading their writing.  I think I have read everything Robert Lacey has read, and Penny Junor’s defense of Prince Charles was brave and admirable without twisting facts.  I would love to attend this LITERARY LUNCHEON on 22 May.  During the Diamond Jubilee year, this event will be tremendously popular.  Check it out.

HOMES OF BRITISH AUTHORS: What a fascinating tour

Filed under: British authors — tmooresr @ 7:10 am

I have been reading British literature all my life.  Thomas Hardy and Jane Austen have been my favorite authors since I was a young man.  To visit the homes where the authors lived–the authors I have loved–is an exciting venture.  I have some of this searching like the homes associated with the life of Charles Dickens.  I think I will go further afield soon–perhaps I will start with the home where Jane Austen lived.  Some of the most beautiful prose in the English language without a doubt!  Nice.

This is my favorite country home–it is the home of Thomas Hardy in Dorset
