I am an old Londoner who think London is Mayfair, Covent Garden, Knightsbridge, Chelsea, and St. James’s; but that’s not the case any longer. Business men from all over the world come to London and stay in Canary Wharf/West India Docks/Isle of Dogs with contact with THE CITY OF LONDON, but never visiting the areas of London where I wander. During my recent two periods in London, I took a motorbike ride to the East End and up and down the Thames by boat to Greenwich and Canary Wharf several times. I looked at a flat in Canary Wharf which had panoramic views which were were astounding. Two of our London team live in Canary Wharf and have talked to us about offering Canary Wharf apartments to business people. I took the TUBE to central London from Canary Wharf when I was in a hurry as well as the Thames River boats to Westminster Bridge when a leisure ride would satisfy. Really, it is London’s modern world, certainly near to the Olympic Park. I had to smile when I learned that Canary Wharf got its name when the boats bringing fruit from the Canary islands docked here. Now the very modern setting is a long way from crates of Spanish fruit. Enjoy these images. Wow!
