THE COMMONWEALTH REALMS
There has been a great deal of public interest in the Heads of Commonwealth meetings in Perth in October. The Queen’s visit was certainly the highlight of this important event. The Commonwealth of Nations, former British colonies, is a voluntary union of realms which share a common past. They are trading partners and recognize the Queen as head of state. Originally, there were 33 realms in the Commonwealth; but for one reason or another, the number has been reduced to 16 . I thought it would be interesting to my readers to know which countries were and are members of this great union.

THE 1701 ACT OF SETTLEMENT: The times they are a’ changing!
With two living males, The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge, in line to the Throne, I don’t understand what the rush is in this matter. I agree with the Prime Minister of Canada that this is not an urgent matter. I wonder what Cameron’s motive is. Sounds pretty “political” to me.

THE QUEEN IS OFF TO AUSTRALIA IN OCTOBER FOR COMMONWEALTH HEADS OF GOVERNMENT — Remember, The Queen is 85 and still going strong!
