THE RIGHT HONOURABLE MAYOR OF LONDON
One of my readers read one of my early blogs about THE RIGHT HONOROUABLE MAYOR OF LONDON and the Lord Mayor’s Show. She was planning her arrival in London around the Lord Mayor’s Show next year; it always takes place on the second week in November. Then the final question: WHO AND WHAT IS THE LORD MAYOR OF LONDON? Good Question. The Queen is Head of State for the country; The Mayor of London is the elected mayor/officer of all the boroughs of London; The RIGHT HONOURABLE MAYOR OF LONDON is an officer of only the CITY of London which is only a small part of the city of London. He is apolitical and represents the financial district of London: the City of London. In London, there is a City within the city of London. How is that for confusing. Well, it has been going on for a very long time. The best of it is there is the Mayor of London’s Show which is a parade celebrating the new mayor each year. It is very colorful and full of history and pageantry. Take a look. WHAT COMES AFTER THE LORD MAYOR’S SHOW is always a source of humor!
