THE PRINCE REGENT / KING GEORGE IV *** Watercolors of the splendid interiors of CARLTON HOUSE

Filed under: Interior Design — tmooresr @ 5:41 am

The contents of the Prince Regent’s home CARLTON HOUSE were moved from this magnificent “palace” on the Mall to Buckingham Palace as the rooms were finished by Nash.  These magnificent interior watercolors give us an idea of the splendor that George IV created in one of the most magnificent interiors ever created in England.  These images are very beautiful and should delight immensely.  I am trying to find the portfolio of images of all the rooms of Carlton House including the Blue Drawing Room and the enormous dining room.

CLASSIC ENGLISH INTERIORS: Henrietta Spencer-ChurchillI

Filed under: Interior Design — tmooresr @ 4:22 am

I received CLASSIC ENGLISH INTERIORS by Henrietta Spencer-Churchill, daughter of the Duke of Marlborough for Christmas 1996.  This is a gorgeous reference and coffee table book which I refer to from time to time.  Mrs. Moore and I have been sorting out space for two new cabinets for the Staffordshire figures we have inherited.  I have been referencing this book, and I thought my readers might like to know about it.  Lady Henrietta has written several interior design books since  this one, but I particularly like this first publication as it uses Blenheim Palace as a reference.  It is really a beautiful book.  It can be purchased from AMAZON, and their price is amazingly cheap:
