THE TURKISH BATH at Liverpool Street Station

Filed under: Architecture,London Blue Plaques — tmooresr @ 11:13 am

Over the past several years, I have driven by this odd building near the Liverpool Street Station, 8 Bishopsgate Churchyard EC2, near Liverpool Street Station.  I am off to London this week, and I am going to visit this old Victorian Turkish Bathhouse now turned into a cafe.  Look at these photos and enjoy the history.  Haven’t times changed?  This is intriguing.  Enjoy!

LONDON BLUE HISTORICAL PLAQUES: Who lived where? Fabulously interesting

Filed under: London Blue Plaques — tmooresr @ 4:47 pm

Often, as I am busy in London, I run into a blue historical plaque on the side of a building indicating that some historical figure lived here.  I stop, think a minute to see if I know this individual, and head on my way with my brain trying to think of the details about these historical figures who have been honored by identifying where they lived.  Brilliant!  This evening, I decided that I would take the brave step to post all the blue plaques for my readers so when you are in London, you can go hunting.  I find it a great reason for several walks.  Enjoy.  It’s long.  Sorry.  Just so many famous people who lived in London.  Bravo!
