TROOPING THE COLOUR AT HORSEGUARDS TODAY; A CELEBRATION OF THE QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY
London is filled with pageantry this morning at the TROOPING THE COLOUR at Horseguards for the Queen’s official birthday. Magnificent and stirring. What a year for the Royal Family. The Duke of Edinburgh accompanied the Queen to the great delight of the public. Enjoy the images coming from London this morning; they are magnificent! AND THE QUEEN IS IN YELLOW, AND THE DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE AND THE DUCHESS OF CORNWALL ARE IN DUSTY BLUE! That’s for the ladies reading the blog AND FOR MY WIFE who cares for this bit of trivia! And what is next in London? WIMBLEDON And then? THE SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES And then? Summer Opening of Buckingham Palace. It is all happening in London this year. Mrs. Moore and I are returning to England the end of August on the Queen Mary2 from New York to Southampton for a fall visit to London and Paris. I think this year has surpassed any other year for “spectaculars” in London. It is one fabulous, exciting event after another; just like the canons in Hyde Park! Fabulous. And, it is wonderful that the Duke of Edinburgh has recovered enough to enjoy the TROOPING OF THE COLOUR at Horseguards with the Queen today. We wish him well.

HISTORIC CARS TO GATHER AT WINDSOR CASTLE 7-9 September: “CONCOURS OF ELEGANCE” ** It is a FIRST and not to be missed
During this great DIAMOND JUBILEE YEAR, such fabulous new events have been added to the events calendar which amaze me. In June, we will enjoy THE DIAMOND JUBILEE which has happened only once in British history. Then in part of July and August, the Olympic Summer Games will hold public excitement about being in London. The Palace will be open, and Royal exhibitions will be held throughout the Kingdom. And now, it has just been announced today that there will be a CONCOURS OF ELEGANCE at Windsor Castle on the Quadrangle from 7-9 September with a classic car parade down the Mall in London. The CONCOURS OF ELEGANCE will be the finest exhibition of its kind in British history. If you will be in Britain during this event, this event should hold a primary position in your itineraries.
