I enjoy THOMAS ROWLANDSON’s 18th century satire about English life.  I should do a complete article about this great artist.

IMRAN KAHN: What has become of Imran Kahn? — one of my favorite stories–his connection to the Annabel Goldsmith legend and her family

Filed under: London Society — tmooresr @ 6:18 pm

Imran Kahn was a very prominent figure when I was younger in London.  All my friends had lots to talk about when it came to Imran Kahn.  Suddenly, after the Princess of Wales died, he disappeared from the social life in London.  Well, here is an up-date.  I always liked the guy.  He had a soul.  I hope you enjoy this rather long, but interesting article.  Wow!  Those my age remember Imran well–he was the man about town in London.  But his heart was always in Pakistan.

What a fascinating article.   Imran Kahn, welcome back in the news.

A WORLD WITHOUT CONSCIENCE. Why?

Filed under: London Society — tmooresr @ 3:22 pm

I have joined all of you as the London riots have ravaged parts of London.  I have believed for years that the deterioration of the family would result in catastrophic results.  Can teachers do everything?  What if children refuse to go to school?  Right!  They are on the streets.  I read this article with tears because no one will accept blame, and few will take the necessary steps to correct.  It is all such a nightmare, and I keep thinking I will wake up soon and it will all go away.  How can young people think this is fun?  Where do they go from here?  What happens to them in a challenging and difficult world?  If you have a child, you are responsible for that child;  otherwise, you are as guilty as the misbehaving child.  We all have believed that the more sophisticated and educated the world becomes, the better it will be.  I leave that debate to you.  This article is long and painful, but it is worth the read.  I am off to London, and I am going to talk to some of these young people.  I want to hear from some of them myself!  I love and enjoy young people.  I have 5 children and 13 grandchildren.  I think we are all good friends.  I have tried to teach them that hard work and solid values are the foundations to a successful future.  But do the rioting young people roaming the London streets hear those kinds of discussions.  I hurt for them.  They are so unhappy.
