The magnificent facade of the National Gallery with its historic Carlton House columns dominates this splendid building, often dominating the lovely domes atop. Check out this beautiful image of the dome:

This tiny photograph is one of the most beautiful images I have ever seen of the old Queen. It is stunning and worth being passed on to my readers. Fabulous. Where have you been hiding, dear photo?!

I am never without a camera when I am in London. My friends are amused and often tell me NO MORE, NO MORE, but I find great pleasure snapping pictures of the city I love to enjoy for years to come. I like it when it rains–lots of that, when it is noisy–plenty of noise for sure, when it is misty night down Cecil Court, excited after a concert or play, and dignified after a gallery visit or sightseeing down Old Bond Street. I just love London. I carry my camera in my computer bag, and I am never without my umbrella/walking stick. I enjoy these images of London when I am back in the States, always planning my next “working trip” to this fabulous city. Let me post a few of my recent photos. For me, they are London. I think you will smile because you will know exactly where I am standing and what I am doing.

Look at these fabulous postcards of London at the end of Queen Victoria’s reign / the first of Edward VII’s reign. Who said London traffic is a new problem? Yikes! Some of the cards actually look older than 1902. They may have been sent in 1902, but I am certain the photos themselves are at least 5/10 years earlier. The tinted card is definitely after 1902.
Thank you, Kenneth Lewis, for sending these cards to me. I really enjoy this kind of exchange between author and reader.
This postcard dates to about 1902, not earlier

Nice
I will post the images individually when he sends them to me full size. I love this kind of stuff. I will post vintage postcards which are appropriate for this blog. Exciting. Some of these images are very rare and helpful for people doing historical research.
