In a recent article about the Diamond Jubilee postage stamps, it mentions that the Tsarevitch’s stamp album was brought to England after the massacre of the Tsar’s family and eventually given to the Queen. It is believe that the Album is in the Royal Collection.
Does anyone know anything about this fascinating story?
Speak up, please. We want to know the details.

I have been a stamp collector since I was a very small boy; my mother used to work with us with our stamp collections during rainy winter days. It was a fabulous project, and the history I learned was immeasurable. THE DIAMOND JUBILEE offers several new stamps from Royal Mail. Look at these.

Today, I spent some time in THE STAMP SHOPat 110 St Martins Lane, London WC2N 4BA (020 7240 1963). I met a gentleman named John Livesey who gave me a little tour of his small shop. I loved it a lot. He showed me some of his oldest and most important stamps and discussed with me the details of the Royal Stamp Collection at Buckingham Palace. The elderly gentleman loved his shop, and he inspired me. I took a few shots of his little shop; hopefully the stamp collectors among my readers will visit THE STAMP CENTER on St. Martin’s Lane. Fun

A few days ago, I went to the post office to obtain stamps to send a few cards. I visited the “collector’s desk” where I was able to look through books of UK stamps. My visit was a real treat, and I thought my readers would also the post office. I was thrilled with the “historical” themes of most of the current issues. I certainly wished I had had some of my older grandchildren with me–maybe a stamp collector in the batch? Look at this series of stamps showing the Royal Houses in British history. I love them and am taking them home for my collection.

It was a very wet mid-January day in Southern California; I was 6 years ago. My much-loved Uncle Frederick came to see me and brought me a huge bundle of world stamps, a stamp book, a package of stickers, and a little pamphlet about collecting stamps. My brother was totally uninterested, but I was very curious. I wanted to know about the people who were printed on the stamps–and a long romance with stamp collecting began. I was an avid collector until I went away to the university at 18; since then, it has been a casual affair. I now gather the stamps which I find particularly interesting. But, my entire interest is based around the history recorded on the stamp. I think there might be a few collectors out there who might really enjoy collecting. Starting January, I am receiving the FIRST DAY COVERS for each commemorative stamps that is publish. The envelops are beautiful, and the stamp always highlights some event or individual who has made considerable contributions to British life. Let me post a few very interesting stamps.
