Stephanie and I have our tickets for our Delta flight to Heathrow, and we arrive in London for this incredible week of celebrations. These images of artists creating the appropriate fittings which will be part of the make-over of the barge which will become a Royal vessel for this occasion are very interesting– absolutely incredible–all in the 18th century style with sea monsters, dolphins with teeth, and Neptune with his trident; how appropriate for this island kingdom. Goodness, this is exciting. Get your cameras ready. This event is made for the happy cameras, and I am charging the batteries.
Enjoy.

These beautiful coins were minted by the Royal Mint to celebrate the Queen’s GOLDEN JUBILEE in 2002. They are large, beautiful designs showing the Queen’s five royal palaces in England. I am excited to see the Royal Mint’s designs for the DIAMOND JUBILEE coinage.
Aren’t they beautiful!

The celebrations are beginning for the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen’s Gallery has a wonderful exhibition of Marcus Adams’s images of the young Princess Elizabeth. These are wonderful photographs. There is a very short movie of the Queen and the photographer; the Queen is charming even at two years of age. I am trying to figure out how to post it on this article. All these exciting exhibitions taking place up to the Diamond Jubilee are wonderful. Enjoy.

One of my friends at BBC1 emailed me an image of what is being being touted as the Queen’s DIAMOND JUBILEE EMBLEM. I am told that the Palace has announced details for this official emblem. I am going to wait and see if this actually appears on the Palace’s correspondence or on the banner which will hang from the balcony of the Palace. They say it won the competition for the best design, and the Palace has confirmed this emblem as the winning entry.
All I can say is WHAT WOULD OLD QUEEN MARY HAVE TO SAY? I suppose this is what we call MOVING WITH THE TIMES. I hope I don’t sound like a “prig.”
I am waiting for its first appearance on official paperwork from the Palace. I think it looks more like an invitation to one of Sarah Ferguson’s house parties celebrating the Diamond Jubilee. The emblelm did win a competition from a school child, and I understand that the Queen is eager to have everyone involved in this monumental occasion–only two Diamond Jubilee celebrations in over a hundred years! It will certainly be a party.
Any comments?
