I love a photograph of a photographer taken while in the rain. Meet GEORGE DANIEL!
THE LONDON CONNECTION has had the services of an outstanding photographer, Mr. Ian Churchill, who has expanded his own business; we are really thrilled about his success. So, our company had to search for a new property photographer. Mr. Aldo d’Ponte from ARBITRAGE GROUP suggested a young photographer named GEORGE DANIELL whom he uses for his real estate promotions. The photographer came to meet with Cristina and to photograph our new property on BEDFORD STREET. We were pleased with these recent photographs which you can see on the Internet www.londonconnection.com, but we were stunned that George is so young. His photographs were just what we needed, so we asked him to photograph another new flat, “THE HAT FACTORY ON OXFORD STREET,” and we were again really pleased. No airs or graces; just hard work!
SO, let me introduce you to MR GEORGE DANIELL

Telephone: 07977540877
If you are needing the work of an eager young photographer who is just beginning his business, give George a call. He is great to work with, and he is eager for the work! I really enjoy supporting young talent, and I am pleased our friend Aldo introduced us to George.

During the past 30 years, THE LONDON CONNECTION has refined its working procedures. ”Practice makes perfect,” they say! We think we have made an arrival to a flat and orientation to the property a warm and friendly experience. Today, there were three arrivals, and I enjoyed being present for all three. David and his associate drivers meet the clients at the airports and escort the visitors to his lovely new Mercedes cab which is in the car park. David drives the visitors to the flats, but moments after he has left the airport, he calls the let-in person (Ricardo or Cristina) to alert the team that the visitors are on their way. When the cab pulls up in front of the flat, the team is there to help with the luggage and hand the visitors over to the warm and charming let-in person. Today, Cristina received all three groups, and I was really delighted to join her to welcome and greet. Those who have come to London with us before know all these procedures. For those who are planning a trip to London in future, we look forward to welcoming you to one of our flats. Our drivers and let-in people will be here to greet you. I took a few photos to give you an idea of all this. It is all so fun.

Thomas Moore Jr. is in London these days to develop a computer system which will be available to those staying in LONDON CONNECTION properties. Almost all our visitors come with lap tops and all kinds of technology. They are met at the properties by our let-in people Cristina and Ricardo who do their best to orient jet lagged visitors to the property: the washer/dryer, the television, local restaurants, the London Tube, and grocery stores, on and on. The London team leave the property in hopes the visitors will remember a bit of the information they have been given. After their short rest, the visitors arise from their “jet-lagged” beds and wonder about what they had been told, remembering very little. Well, we have solved the problem: computer information about the flat where a client is staying which will tell the entire story, even maps and operation manuals, lists of phone numbers, and tube information. Before people leave the States, visitors to our flats will be sent the computer link to the property they are visiting; we are hopeful travelers will be better prepared before they ever arrive in London. Perhaps they will print out the information to their accommodation. Here is a preliminary format–only a first draft. I am thrilled about this tremendous advancement in our organization. Check out what’s happening. I think you will be thrilled with this. It solves lots of problems. Of course our London team are always on hand to assist. When the program is completed, you just CLICK AWAY, and you will have all the information you will ever need. It will be an interactive site. Nice!

THE LONDON CONNECTION blog has become the effort of a real team: people looking for travel hints in London, people looking for flats and houses in central London for their holiday visits, people reading the London Connection Blog as part of their daily routine, and of course people who stumble on to the blog while prowling on the internet. Some of the most wonderful members of this blog help me with ideas and suggestions, sending articles, appropriate YOUTUBE movies, or correcting my details. When I hear from our computer specialist in our office whom I call the SCOREKEEPER and hear that BLOG.londonconnection.com averages 58,000 readers a day, I feel so humble and grateful to the most wonderful group of people who share my intense interest in the history of London. I read every London blog I can find in hopes of finding other people’s thoughts and wonderful ideas; some of them are real scholarly efforts. Truly, I feel your support which gives me the energy to keep all this sharing going. Wow! 58,000 readers a day is a “bundle” ; I can’t get my head around it. BUT, I promise to keep it going as long as you join me by sending all your discoveries, photographs, and suggestions. I will be on the Queen Mary2 for 2 more days when Maureen will collect us at the docks in Southampton to whisk us off to our home in London. Please keep traveling with us.

The LONDON CONNECTION TEAM is an amazing group. The team work with each other daily from early morning until late nights–depending on flight arrivals. Thomas Jr. and I are in London numerous times during the year, and we see first hand the achievements of these capable and caring people. The company works like a family; some of the team members have worked with us for over fifteen years. Quite frankly, I love this team of marvelous people.
Each year, THE LONDON CONNECTION recognizes one member of the team for an outstanding performance. Alice, the head housekeeper, received this award three years ago; she has worked with this company for over a decade–she is fabulous! Cristina, our outstanding London manager, was recognized two years ago–after working for the London Connection for only one year; she is the most outstanding manager ever to lead our London team. This year’s award will be presented to our assistant London Manager, known to all our clients as RICARDO.
Ricardo Lopes has joined the team with amazing energy and enthusiasm. His desire to do a great job with a tremendous attention to detail has been greatly appreciated by the US office and by the London manager Cristina. The London operation is intense: airport pick-ups–1,600 each year, weekly housekeeping of 50 flats, property up-keep and repair, 2,100 guest let-ins each year, owner relations, 5,241 laundered sheets and the same number of pillow cases, and duvets, tons of waste basket litter removal, 4,000 washed windows, over 10,000 phone calls, water leaks, failing equipment, thousands of light bulbs, 75 keys in the hands of each employee, on and on. Ricardo has jumped right in the middle of this important operation and has brought a thoughtful, sensitive spirit to an operation that can easily stir tempers and ignite emotions; he is a calm, careful gentleman. I am grateful that this special person has brought important assistance to Cristina and to the other members of the team.
THE LONDON CONNECTION is delighted to present THE LONDON CONNECTION OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD to Ricardo Lopes; and, I am excited to pin this award badge on his coat. The London Connection is a better operation because Ricardo has joined our wonderful team. Bravo!

We left JFKennedy Airport last evening and arrived London about 7:30am–That’s another day! I cannot tell you how nice it is to walk through Her Majesty’s Customs to find Maureen’s smiling face greeting us with our delighted smiles at seeing her. I say to myself: WHAT LUCKY VISITORS TO THE LONDON CONNECTION FLATS TO HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL PERSON LIKE MAUREEN GREETING THEM WHEN THEY ARRIVE IN LONDON AND TAKING THEM TO THEIR PARTICULAR FLATS. After a long flight from Salt Lake City, Maureen is a real shot in the arm. We came into London to our flat and there was Cristina standing at the front door with more happy smiles and those fabulous HUGS. Cristina is our London manager, and those who have had the opportunity to have Cristina do the let-in know how it feels to be in Cristina’s care! What a fabulous London team. OH GOODNESS, it is wonderful to be in London, no matter how many times we have experienced this same careful coordination on the part of our London team. WONDERFUL. We are so excited. LONDON IS EXCITED FOR THE DIAMOND JUBILEE; you can feel it in the air!
