I wrote an article about this coach last year. At that time, the coach was still in Australia. It appears the Australian has taken a different a different view on these matters; but, thank goodness, the “coach saga” has been resolved and delivered. Yikes.

All these items are available at the Queen’s Gallery. I am anxious to see them in a couple weeks. Great fun!

The Royal Chapel was destroyed by the Germans during World War I. There were several hits around the Palace, but the Chapel was the only direct hit where major damage was done to the Palace. The Queen said she could “now look at the East End in the face.” After the war, when life began to return to “normal,” the decision was made to remove the destroyed chapel to be replaced with a public gallery where the Royal Collection could be displayed on a rotating basis. Today, two magnificent exhibitions are organized by the Palace for the public’s pleasure each year. I am in THE QUEEN’S GALLERY at least twice each visit–remember the Palace Gift Shop is a part of the QUEEN’S GALLERY (the best place to buy superb souvenirs). This November, the exhibition is THE RENAISSANCE OF NORTHERN EUROPE. It will be spectacular. Today, I found this amazing article showing the team at the QUEEN’S GALLERY preparing for this exhibition.

Over the past several years, the Queen has allowed to be copied many of the finest pieces of porcelain from the ROYAL COLLECTION. These pieces of historical china are created and fabricated to the highest level. Each generation of my family has added antiques and contemporary items to our family’s growing collection. I have purchased a great deal over the years; among my additions to this collection have been large amounts of china from THE ROYAL COLLECTION’S recreations. I don’t consider them “souvenirs” but rather porcelain worth a collector’s serious attention and investment. Take a look.
I have purchased 12 dinner plates, the charger, several pillboxes, 24 cups/saucers. This is a beautiful dinner service, really quite unique, I believe. I would prefer this dinner service when compared to a contemporary dinner service purchased from a modern department store or wedding shop.

I followed very closely the FORBES ESTATE AUCTION in Scotland . I was particularly interested in this portrait of Queen Victoria and John Brown at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight–red boxes, daughters, dogs, etc.. The painting would have attracted no interest during any earlier reign, but this Queen “tells all.” I was thrilled when I walked into the VICTORIA EXHIBITION at Kensington Palace last week and saw the painting on the wall. Its owner: Her Majesty the Queen. Believe me, I was relieved and thrilled. HER MAJESTY, THE QUEEN–WOW! WHAT A WISE LADY.
