1-21: Review of 1-21 Smith Street
17 December 2010 at 10:00 PM
My wife and I have stayed at this particular flat in Chelsea a few times. It's a very good value for the price and only about a half mile from the Sloane Square tube stop. There are grocery stores nearby as well as some nice restaurants. There's a wonderful food market every Saturday not far from the tube station. Despite the flat being close to Kings Road it's surprisingly quiet. Our particular unit was actually below ground level but that was not a problem.

Dear sir:
We found your staff extremely helpful. In spite of our late arrival your airport pick-up was there to collect us and drive us to the property. The apartment is centrally situated and as such worked well for us. The various cafes and restaurants in the area made it quite unnecessary to make use of the kitchen. We would definitely avail ourselves of your services again.
We only have one issue. We were afraid to sit on the dining room chairs. The glue holding the various parts has dried out over the years and is not holding them sturdily. The legs are comming out of the sockets, I would suggest either repairing them or replacing them.

1-21: Review of 1-21 Smith Street

We were very pleased with our experience at this apartment. It was well equipped, comfortable and very well positioned in the City. The neighbourhood was great for walking and exploring and the proximity to Mark's and Spenser's was convenient for food shopping.
Our pick-up at Heathrow was very appreciated. We were late in arriving and worried that we would have missed our ride, but "Joe" was there with a big grin and wisked us away smartly. Maria met us at the apartment and was very helpful and thorough.
We can recommend dinner at Ricardo's and the play Jersey Boys. Both excellent!

We did not avail ourselves of the Heathrow pick up service. The check-in process went very smoothly and she explained the workings of all of the appliances. For the first time I think I might have an idea about how to work the combination washer/dryer for clothes. Since we'd only seen them in London, they were a big mystery to us. (That was a wonderful perk by the way, as we stayed two weeks.)
1-21 Smith Street was a lower flat which was wonderfully quiet even though it was just off the main road (King's Road) through Chelsea. We had never stayed in Chelsea before (only Knightsbridge and South Kensington) and we really enjoyed the area. The tube stop was a comfortable distance. On Saturdays, there is a wonderful street market off Sloan Square. Everything from farm fresh vegetables to raw oysters and the most decadent cupcakes you've ever eaten! Pure bliss. Plus the food super market was right up the road and had a great selection of everything. There's also a Mark's and Spencer Simply Food close by and Paul's Boulangerie to pick up fresh food ready to eat and bring back to the flat. We did not get to try the owner of the flat's Italian Tapas bar but intend to the next time we are there. After five nights we moved over to 1-43 Ovington Court, an area we are much more familiar with, and bid our first "home" a fond fair well.

We really enjoyed our stay in Smith Street. The location was fabulous. As we were already in the UK - we spent the first week driving around the midlands and Wales - we drove to the apartment.

The housekeeper who met us there was very friendly and explained everything we needed to know about the apartment. All the appliances worked well and overall our every need was catered to.

I appreciated the books and DVDs in the apartment... along with the travel brochures for local attractions. Perhaps some info on local restaurants - in Kings Road - would also be helpful. I left a couple of books for the next arrival.

I would certainly recommend the apartment to friends and stay there again myself if it is available when I am next in London.
