It will be on display in Madrid until March, 13. I hope I can see it there before it travels to Paris. But I'd love to see both of them together in Paris too.

Glad you like Vegas! I've been there several times and to London even more times. I must say that of the two I much prefer London. London is full of history while also being modern; it has its eccentricities and quirks which make it charming. Vegas--to me anyway--is all contrived and artificial; it has no soul. If Vegas is eccentric it's because it thinks it should be, not because it evolved that way.

But you have a wonderful time in Vegas! I'm sure you'll bring some class to the place :-)

Just reminiscing with my "little" brother Dave about El Poche and the fabulous marinated steaks! He remembers the "Chistosa" platter fondly!! Whenever I am driving on Mission I think about that food and the times our family enjoyed at El Poche.

Dreaming of a literary tour of the UK but just England may have to do with my budget. I enjoyed looking at your photos. I especially wish to visit the homes of the Bronte sisters, Jane Austine, Dickens and Shakespeare. I also wish to visit the beloved home (Menabilly) of Daphne Du Maurier though I would not call her literary! I am fascinated by her though. Your photos inspired me to visit the home and the home that was not to be, of Vita Sackville West. Do you have any recommendations for a good tour company for someone on a budget?

What a wonderful post and a WONDERFUL Monarch! Queen Elizabeth II is a living testament to duty undertaken wholeheartedly, and consistently! I find critics of Her Majesty to be short sighted; seeing only the pomp and glitter and they do not consider the constant pressures and tribulations she endures. I admire her constancy and quiet thoughtfulness on behalf of her subjects.

Long may she continue to reign!

In admiration,

Wow! amazing picture I was wonder if there is plan to reopen the vault and study the remains of the King and with the new technology find out if the problems with his leg caused his death.
also is the King still in vault under the floor of St. George’s Chapel, at Windsor?
thank you

I love your website. I have two silk embroidered pictures which came to Australia from London with my great-grandmother. They are a pair - the design is drawn by what looks like pencil, then coloured, then fine single strand silk has been used to embellish the design in mostly long and short stitch. One picture has a rather effeminate shepherd standing under a tree where the name "Phyllis" has been carved. The other is a shepherdess - presumably Phyllis. I love them and treasure them.
Regards, Catherine

I love your website. I have two silk embroidered pictures which came to Australia from London with my great-grandmother. They are a pair – the design is drawn by what looks like pencil, then coloured, then fine single strand silk has been used to embellish the design in mostly long and short stitch. One picture has a rather effeminate shepherd standing under a tree where the name “Phyllis” has been carved. The other is a shepherdess – presumably Phyllis. I love them and treasure them.
Regards, Catherine

I know it looks like the pickle in the background, but it is not. Come more into central London, near Trafalgar Square.

Hi Tom

I have no idea where the statue is, but I thought that I'm maybe able to figure it out with some detective work... Sherlock Holmes or so....
What I found out so far; the thing in the background seems to be the Gherkin. And there is a Britannia Pub in Monument street. Does Britannia happen to be in the backyard of the pub or of a nearby building?

I'm sure the fact that the above necklace of Elizabeth Taylor sold for $314,500 has nothing to do with your search for more of these theatre passes / tokens!
